Living in the soggyHillsboro, there’s no reason not to indulge in the experience!

The Colorful Building that houses adventure and board games

Owners of Rune & Board, Nick and Sadie are not only the nicest people you’ll ever meet, they are also avid gamers themselves. When their favorite gaming store closed several years back, they discovered that finding a new “home” was no easy task. Every store had their own unique advantages, but none were the exact right fit. Gaming stores are, in essence, a community, and Nick and Sadie sought something far more diverse and inclusive than what they were finding. Recognizing there was an opportunity there, they went into heavy research mode, handpicked all the best elements of the best stores, and in 2016 opened Rune & Board.

The first thing you notice when you walk in is how fresh, clean and organized the space is. From the color scheme to the layout to the decidedly warm and welcoming atmosphere, Nick and Sadie have gone above and beyond to foster a positive environment where everyone should feel welcome. Whether you are a seasoned player or a first-timer, there are no judgements. The second thing you notice is how well-stocked the store is. While half of the space is dedicated to open-play and organized events, the other half boasts a fantastic array of trading card games, role playing games, miniature wargames and every accessory imaginable. If you can’t find it here, you won’t find it anywhere!
