Located under the Atwells complex at Burnham and Ash in downtown Tigard, Studio 7 Hair Design has been serving the local community since opening on January 1, 2018. Owned and operated by a mother and son team, Suzi McElhiney and her son Chris More, the duo have worked alongside each other in the past, but Studio 7 is their first joint venture in owning a salon. Chris, who serves as Artistic Director, likes the fact that “the salon is kind of social and everybody ends up knowing everybody,” he remarks. “We’re a community salon with a variety of artists,” he points out. The Studio’s combined staff of independent artists offer a wide range of services including perms, roller sets, color, blonding, foils, un-colors, barbering, etc. and all types, textures and color of hair are welcome. Manicures, pedicures, gel polishes and hard gel extensions are also available at the salon. “Most of my 20 years of experience has been in a spa atmosphere,” Chris relates. “I would love to expand the salon to include a full-service spa that offers waxing, facials, aesthetics and more,” he shares. “That’s one of the goals.”

Closely connected to the community, Studio 7 Hair Design is an active member of the Tigard Chamber of Commerce. Suzi, who has been a part of the local community for over 20 years, and Chris, who has lived in the area with his family for the last eight years, participate in Chamber events and support local nonprofit organizations through the Chamber of Commerce. In addition, Chris actively supports as many local Tigard events as possible. Furthermore, the strong community ties extend to Studio 7’s talented group of hair and nail specialists who all live locally.
