Do you have clothes you have outgrown either by size or personal style taking up space in your closet? Are you wanting to update your wardrobe but have champagne taste and a beer budget? Would you like to learn how to sell gently used items but need to know how to start while staying safe? Are your teenager’s style demands overwhelming?
Mina’s Closet Consignment is the perfect place for you to check out. Mina’s Closet employees will guide you through all of your fashion needs. You may even find a vintage treasure not available anywhere else.
Mina’s Closet opened in February and paused its operations briefly so the owner Mina Khamphilavong could take care of her sick mother. “It is open now, and I want my store to serve the community through the circle of recycled clothing,” says Khamphilavong. At Mina’s Closet, the community can shop for high-value pieces at a fraction of the price. At the same time, those who have outgrown their gently used wardrobe can earn some money back at the seller-friendly 50/50 commission versus the standard 40/60 commission other consignment stores typically offer. Mina’s Closet will also have an eBay store to help sell items you want to keep in your possession until they are pur-chased. All you have to do is send them your picture of the item.
Another way Mina’s Closet serves the community is by pro- viding part-time work to high school students. Khamphilavong shares her practical knowledge based on real world experiences. These lessons won’t be found in a stagnant formal retail curriculum. Currently, there are three teenage employees: two who work the weekend and one who works after school. Khamphilavong is the definition of an entrepreneur. She immigrated from Laos after being on her own since she was 12. She has built many successful restaurant and retail businesses the consignment process or teaching the intricacies of the retail world through mentorship. While you are at the store, you will experience a joyful welcome and sense of appreciation that is unparalleled. It is highly recommended to check out their ever-changing over the last 20 years and is eager to share her wisdom with work-age students. Khamphilavong, a self-made success, shows genuine love and compassion for anyone who asks for help, whether by offering an opinion on an outfit, guiding a new seller through
bin full of items for three dollars before you leave with your other newly obtained treasures.
