Looking for fresh, affordable, naturally grown produce in Canby? Paradise Farm & Nursery offers the ultimate convenience for healthy, local eating with a seasonal farmstand just minutes from town. From May through early December, owner Terri Cummings stocks the stand with an abundance of seasonal fruits, vegetables, plant starts, fresh chicken eggs, and handcrafted wreaths.

Your Local Source for Organic-Inspired Produce and Plants

With over 40 years of experience in agricultural science, Terri brings deep knowledge and sustainable growing practices to everything she cultivates. Located on a 20-acre farm just off Heintz Road, Paradise Farm & Nursery is a hidden gem in the Canby countryside. Although the land was purchased in 2002, the farmstand began taking shape after years of pivoting through economic challenges—including the 2008 recession and the COVID-19 pandemic.

The farm’s name, Paradise Farm & Nursery, reflects Terri and her husband’s shared love of Jimmy Buffett and the dream of a simpler, greener life.

What You’ll Find at the Paradise Farmstand

Starting in early May, the farmstand opens with hardy plant starts—perfect for backyard gardeners and homesteaders. As the season progresses, the stand is filled with freshly harvested, naturally grown produce. Thanks to innovative use of wind tunnels, crops are ready earlier than usual, giving customers a head start on summer favorites.

Expect to find a rotating selection of:

  • Tomatoes, peppers, squash, zucchini, and cucumbers

  • Kale, green beans, eggplant, and herbs

  • Unique produce like ground cherries and giant banana squash

  • Fresh berries including strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, boysenberries, gooseberries, and apples & pears in late summer

Paradise Farm also grows annual and perennial flowers—mostly cutting varieties, perfect for fresh bouquets.

Seasonal Decor and Handmade Wreaths in the Fall

As the growing season winds down, the farmstand transforms into a cozy autumn destination, offering handcrafted wreaths, swags, and centerpieces, all made daily by Terri. These one-of-a-kind seasonal items are perfect for holiday decorating or gifting.

Sustainable, Spray-Free Growing Practices

All produce at Paradise Farm is naturally grown without sprays or pesticides. Terri’s eco-friendly methods include:

  • Saving seeds from previous harvests

  • Composting spoiled produce for chicken feed

  • Using chicken manure compost to enrich the soil

This zero-waste approach keeps both the environment and prices healthy.

“My goal is to keep the cost low so people will eat healthy foods,” says Terri. “Many neighbors tell me they ate off my stand all summer and never had to buy produce at the store.”

Community-Driven and Customer-Focused

Despite being only three years into business officially, the response from the local community has been overwhelmingly positive. Terri regularly updates the Paradise Farm & Nursery Facebook page with what’s fresh and available at the stand.

Located just 5 miles south of Canby, it’s a quick and worthwhile stop for anyone seeking fresh, farm-to-table produce and seasonal goods.

“It makes a difference when you know your customers,” Terri adds. “That’s what makes small-town farming so rewarding.”
