Community: Our Children Oregon

Our Children Oregon (OCO), a nonprofit dedicated to ensuring every child in the state has the opportunity to thrive, has announced its “15 by 30” spring fundraising campaign. The campaign aims to raise funds and awareness to support OCO’s vision of making Oregon a top 15 state for child well-being by 2030.

Currently, Oregon ranks 26th overall and 44th in education outcomes, according to the Annie E. Casey Foundation’s National “Kids Count” data. OCO seeks to change this by measuring the experiences of Oregon’s children, ongoing policy and advocacy work and, with The Children’s Agenda, investing in the programs that uplift youth.

“We believe every child in Oregon deserves the chance to reach their full potential,” said Jenifer Wagley, executive director of OCO. “The ‘15 by 30’ campaign is an ambitious but achievable goal that will require the support and dedication of our entire community. We’re calling on Oregonians to stand with us and help build a brighter future for our children and families.”

The “15 by 30” campaign encourages both one-time donations and monthly contributions of $15 or more. OCO hopes to engage an initial 1,500 Oregonians in championing the cause of the state’s children and families. Funds raised will support OCO’s efforts to provide essential outreach, advocate for policy change and invest in programs that uplift youth.

“Oregon is known for its compassion, resilience and dedication to the well-being of our community,” said Ivy Major-McDowall, policy and advocacy director at OCO. “By working together and supporting the ‘15 by 30’ campaign, we can show the world what it means to be Oregonian and make a lasting impact on the lives of our children.”
