Pointing Where It Counts

Justin Meehan, owner of Orion Fencing, a non-profit in Vancouver, will be the Paralympic fencing coach at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, where he is projected to have two students compete. Meehan’s lifelong passion for fencing has led him to create an inclusive program that welcomes individuals of all abilities, breaking the stigma that the sport is elitist and dangerous.

From Local Gym to National Reach

Askeo International Mat Club teaches kids essential life skills like hard work, accountability, and perseverance through the sport of wrestling. Founded in 2007, the nonprofit has grown to over 160 students and a 6,500-square-foot facility, with plans to expand nationwide. Their unique approach divides students by age and experience, while emphasizing individual effort and teamwork.
